48 hours of heart attacks

It's over. It's finally over.

It's been a hell of a rollercoaster ride for the past few weeks, but I'm so glad to say it's finally over!

I'd post her picture here (mosaic-ed, of course), but that would be too mean, seeing as how she was kinda nice to me today and all, so I'm gonna leave it this time round! Besides, I won't be seeing her again! Which is a good thing, isn't it? ^^ Maybe we can go back to being real friends now. =)

Anyway, last night and this morning was a killer, a real killer. Let me start from the beginning.

At 4pm yesterday, I accidentally deleted my final sequence (that's half of my work gone) from Avid, and the studios close at 5.30pm. If that's not all, my segment was due for compilation at 11am the next day. Panicking, I asked Mr. Pok to help me, but there was no way to retrieve the lost sequence.

Bo pian, Mr. Pok was very nice to lend me his very big external hard drive (38GB worth of space), a camera, and several wires to let me digitize at home. I rushed home with all that barang and started downloading Adobe Premiere Pro at 6pm.

8 hours later, I finally downloaded and installed the program. But to be able to use it, I had to restart my com. Once I turned it off, it refused to turn on again, giving the same beeping that it used to do. BLOODY HELL! OF ALL TIMES YOU COME AND DIE ON ME NOW!!

Sidetracking for one paragraph, my com has been doing this to me lately. 'This' meaning its tendency to die on me just when I have a submission due the next day or the day after. It seems to relish the fact that I will die if I don't use the com. It has a mind of its own, I tell ya. Anyhoo, I'm getting the people to come fix it next Wednesday, so I hope they don't take everything apart, or all my stuff will be gone.

After alternating between prayers and curses (and a few whacks to the CPU), the com finally manages to turn on. Just when I'm about to start the program, I take out all the barang needed, and to my horror, I discover I HAVE NO FIREWIRE PORT.

All this at 2am in the morning, when tutorial is only 7 hours away!

My brother tried to comfort me, said there was nothing I could do. Oh man, I even cried lah. I couldn't take it. I was so worried I would get everyone in trouble, or fail. Probably even both. T__T

So again, bo pian, I had to lug everything back to school at 8.45am in the morning. Bloody hell, I was dead to the world again, even with my alarm ringing. Supposed to be in school at 8.30am, but woke up at 7.30am.

So anyway, I slogged my butt off for another 3 hours. At least it was comforting to know that all around me, my class was going nuts, 'cos they were either not finished yet, or had trouble dumping to tape. The clients were here at 11.30am, and they even had to wait for us to be done. Ooh, Chee was sooo angry, but who cares, really. Hahahaha... Mr. Pok said first time in history the whole class bakak together to be late for submission, and so late summore.

In the end, I managed to more or less pull a sequence together, but it didn't hit 4 minutes. Only about 2min 45 secs. Sucks. I hate it. I'm afraid I'll fail. But when the class watched it, they were laughing their heads off. They said not bad! Even Chee said too! Although she mentioned the audio was a little koyak, but I didn't have time to fix it.

Tutorial ended at 2pm when it was supposed to end at 1pm, and there was a lecture at 2, so none of us could grab a bite. The whole class was late for lecture, and I think there were lots of growling stomachs then. Hahahaha...

So anyway, I'm gonna go back to the studios on Wednesday and edit the sequence properly so that Dawn and Emily can compile everything into a proper mag programme. Gonna make this shit look good man, it's gonna be shown on TV! Albeit in hotels lah, but it's still being shown, so better make it look good. Wouldn't hurt for it to look better on my portfolio too. =P Too bad the slipshod one I did will be the one that Chee's marking. *sigh*

Dawn was feeling kinda down though. Don't know if you'll read this, but Dawn, you did a great job! You deserve as much credit as we can get for this programme, 'cos if it wasn't for you, everything would have just been chaos. Thanks for everything!

Had dinner with Jin and Hanee just now. ARGH... I'm trying not to think about it, but my heart just hurts so much when I er... think about it. But it does! We only have 3 more days left with her--- no, 2.

And Lao Die too! We only have 1 day! Omigod. I think I'm gonna die from the double whammy. My dear darlings, please take care of yourself in Australia. I don't know how I'm gonna deal without having you around, but I'll manage. And you better study hard ok! Don't leave me for a few years and then come back without a cert, I'll bite your head off, I tell ya.

My mantra for the next few days: Don't crydon'tcrydon'tcrydon'tcry...
